Once a new user has been added, the account administrator will need to assign territories to the user. Territories are used to define the areas that the market data and accounts that a user will have visibility to. Territories can be set by State, County or Zip Code. This article walks through the steps required to define a user's territory.
To navigate to the user's profile, click on the Admin link in the left navigation menu.
On the Admin screen, click on the Users tab.
On the right side of the user table, click View for the user that you would like provision a territory for.
Once viewing the user’s profile, scroll down to the Territory section and click the Edit Territories button.
Territories are provisioned by checking the boxes next to either the State (for all of the counties and zip codes available in that state), County (for all of the zip codes within that county), or specific Zip Codes. Clicking on the black triangle to the left of the checkboxes will expand or collapse that territory's sub-territory list.
State - Selecting a State will check the boxes for all counties and zip codes within that state.
County - Selecting a County will fill the State checkbox with green to indicate that selections were made within the state, and all Zip Codes within the county are selected.
Zip Code - Checking the boxes for individual Zip Codes will fill both the State and County checkboxes with green to indicate that selections were made within those territories.
Tip: If adding territories by County or Zip Code, the search box can be used to filter for the desired territory without having to expand the State or County listings. Simply start typing the county name or zip code into the Filter for box, and matches will display below. In the above example, 995 was entered, and all zip codes that start with 995 were available for selection. Each additional character will continue to refine the available territories. All desired territories can be entered before moving onto the next step.
Once all appropriate territories have been selected, click the Submit button to save the territory provisioning.
The saved territories will be displayed (by zip code) in the Territory field of the user's profile page. The State, County and Zip columns can be searched at the top of each column to confirm that a location was included. Clicking the Edit Territories button again will allow the administrator to make changes to the currently saved territory.
