It is important to understand what the decile ranking columns in Market Insight mean, and the differences between them, in order to translate your findings into a market strategy.
Note: the data in these columns are relative to the respective buckets of product codes that were purchased, and will vary from client to client.
If you are ever unsure of what codes are within the “bucket”, select the Dataset Codes icon within a Provider profile to identify the applicable list of codes.
Order Rank:
This decile is representing the number of orders or prescriptions that the physician has written for one or more of the respective codes (equipment or medication) in the bucket.
DX Rank:
This decile is representing the volume of patients the physician sees that have a diagnosis that is RELATED to one or more of the respective codes (ie: the patients who could use those type(s) of products).
Examples:
High Values for Both
This physician is ordering high volume of one or more of the available codes and also encounters a high volume of patients with diagnoses that would need the those codes.
High Value for DX
This physician does not order any of the available codes but encounters patients with diagnoses that would need the those codes. This is a new potential referral source and a great physician to call on!
Low Value for DX
This physician is ordering a low volume of one or more of the applicable codes, but they do encounter a high volume of patients with related diagnoses that would need those codes. This is a physician that has potential to increase orders!
